The annual Mining Indaba 2023 event is the leading African mining investment event held to discuss and explore the latest trends and developments in Africa’s mineral industry. This year, AfriMine and Mining Indaba join forces to help young mineral professionals to equip them with the knowledge to leverage new and emerging technologies to solve the mineral industry’s challenges in Africa.

The partnership will be officially launched at the conference, which will take place in Cape Town from February 6-9. AfriMine will take a leading role in the event content offering expert industry guidance, support and resources to provide a platform to help young professionals breaking into the industry. By doing so, these industry new-starters will be able to take the steps and start making meaningful contributions towards the future of the sustainable mining sector in Africa.

Additionally, AfriMine will also be contributing to the brand-new Explorer Showcase forum, that will be shedding the light on exploration and early development mining companies with assets across Africa. It enables explorers to gain access to our elite network of deal-makers to help raise finance or find the right partner to advance their projects.

Speaking about the opportunity this partnership brings, Tobi Dayo-Olupona, Lead Director, AfriMine said. “We are thrilled to work with Mining Indaba and to have the opportunity to engage with such a large and influential audience. As the global mining industry is heading into a season of mass retirement of astoundingly experienced professionals, we are confident that this partnership will continually provide young professionals with the opportunity to engage with this group of professionals while also acquiring the necessary skills to finance and manage world-class mining projects within and outside Africa.”

Mining Indaba, Event Director, Kathryn Barnard added “We are incredibly excited to be able to work with one of the leading not-for-profit Mining organizations focusing on developing the next generation of talent. At Mining Indaba, we are enthusiastic and committed to providing that platform to help level up the next group of young professionals that will be shaping the future of mining and taking a leading role in its development.

With the mission of fostering collaboration between young mineral professionals, new industry challengers and experienced personnel in order to advance knowledge transfer and development of the future mining industry in Africa, this unique partnership with AfriMine
